Relationships and distance

Sometimes I read girly magazines. Glamour, Elle… Ahem, read. The few articles that can be found among all the commercials, are mostly about makeup, fashion and relationships.

In those magazines I’ve read, more than once, about people who claim that one of the biggest obstacles that work against a healthy relationship is distance. Being physically apart is hard enough, and sometimes your beloved one may be in another country, on another continent, with thousands of kilometers between you.

Distance can cause some serious problems for us humans, since we need closeness, good communication, care and affection in order to maintain a relationship.

But, if love can move mountains, make the impossible possible and all that, then – what can a little bit of distance do? Not much, right?

My first guess is that you all heard of him. He was my idol when I was a child, and a some of that infatuation remained even when I grew up (sort of), but I am not sure if he would make My Top 10 Favorite Famous People list today. (A mental note: Jelena, compile that list!)

My other guess is that you have some similar feelings of respect and amazement with the guy.

Is coding an art?

What would be your very first, the most spontaneous answer to this question? And why?

Definition of “art”

Do you know what “art” means? Probably you do, everyone has an understanding for the concept of art, but if you try to formulate it, it may be hard and challenging. The definitions vary greatly, and many argue that it is actually impossible to define art and that is how it should stay. And when I say “many” here, I mean – people who know a lot about art; people who teach about art, professors, philosophers, experts.

Coding is an art… some think

The Alien has a headache. He was up all night reading about art, surfing the net and studying the history of art, but he feels even more confused now than before he started his research.

It all started yesterday during a coffee break, when he heard Mario bragging about his coding, how his creations are nothing but pure art. Is coding a form of art?
